Many thanks to our amazing, super-talented animator Simon Howe from No Such Place. He’s put in a lot of hard hours and I’m sure you’ll agree that the result is stunning.
Feel free to give it a share, give it some love, give No Such Place a visit or even give some private applause from the comfort of your own home.

Its been a busy year for us already!
Just got back from Tamworth Country Music Festival where again we kept a frantic schedule of fast picking, parade floating, celebrity hob knobbing, hand shaking, baby kissing, flyer distributing, media calling, cowboy-hat signing, guest appearing, radio broadcasting, charity lawn bowling, honky-tonk appreciating, string changing, & partner twirling.
Aside from being nominated for two golden guitars at the 2014 CMAA awards, we were also honoured to perform in the opening the ceremony to a sold out 3000-strong arena. We didn’t bring home the gold this time but we were very proud to be in the running.
In keeping with our reputation of surprise-filled shows, we had the pleasure of having such amazing guests on stage as: Kasey Chambers, Mark Gable (of The Choirboys fame), Sara Storer, Shane Nicholson, Harry Hooky and a host of very talented musicians.
Kasey hailed us as ‘The best Fu*%ing gig in Tamworth’ to her 32,00 twitter followers. We also got a spot on an ABC national broadcast amongst the festival shenanigans.
Muzcuz finished off Tamworth with a bang, sharing the stage with Australian country music royalty, the MycClymonts, in front of 8,000 punters at the Bicentennial Park stage.
On the way home we stopped in to perform live on air in the first ever ‘Aussie Opry’. A new segment on the ABC’s Saturday Night Country, with Bill Chambers, Lachlan Bryan, and Robyn Ludwick. Several bands all squished into the same tiny radio booth!
Here at MuzCuz central, we’re excited about 2014. Lots of things on the cards!!!
We’re looking at heading state-side again later on in the year and we’re working on some new material… its early days but keep an ear open for some new tunes at our gigs
But let’s recap 2013. It was easily our biggest, most action-packed year yet. Some highlights were: Launching our sophomore album “Powerlines” in May. Making our first trip to the US to perform at Americana Music Festival (and showcasing at the famous Station Inn, Nashville, TN). Being nominated for 2 CMAA Golden Guitars and CMC ‘New Oz Band of the Year’. Performing at Woodford Folk Festival, Port Fairy Folk Festival, The National Folk Festival, Festival Of The Sun and The Falls Festival. Jamming backstage in Nashville with Paul Kelly and Dobro legend Randy Kohrs. Drinking 567 collective coffees at various roadhouses along the M1 Freeway…
Now, onto our next big thang: TAMWORTH!!!
We’ll be up there all festival long, gigging, gigging, gigging, drinking, hiding out in AirConditioned paradise and gigging!
We’ve got our dates up on our SHOWS page but I’ll chuck up our Tamworth 2014 poster for you to have a geeze at also. (Look out for our banner around town!)
All-righty Melbourne peeps. We’ve got one more BIG Melbourne show for the year. It’s a Xmas spectacular with the mighty gypsy force of THE WOOHOO REVUE!
The night is going to be a festive delight of bluegrass and gypsy madness, including cheap Xmas cocktails and crazy Xmas spirit.
Woohoo and Muz Cuz will be joining forces for a finale of GYPSYGRASS madness!!!
Wazzup Muz Cuzzies?!
We’re home in Melbourne after the most exciting tour of our lives. What a wild ride to Nashville and back. We played the Station Inn (premier bluegrass venue), jammed with Paul Kelly and shared the stage with some of our bluegrass heroes (Randy Kohrs, Infamous Stringdusters, Jim Lauderdale)
Americana Fest was a whirlwind of amazing music and gigging everyday. It was fun, but man we worked our butts off. Big shout out to Becky Lynn Street from Revolution PR for driving us around and taking care of us as well as all the staff at Nashville Downtown Hostel (the best hostel. Ever.) … not to mention Monica Nowak who made the trip from Melbourne to see us play and sell merch and be an all round muz cuz helper!
Once again, each and every single one of our Pozible supporters should know how appreciative we are that you made this possible for us. Without your support, it simply would not have been a reality – and man, it was definitely worth it the trip…
Because of our trip to Americana Fest, it is with great pleasure to announce that we secured a management deal with LA based company Sterling Artist Management! We hit it off with Mark and Dave after one of our showcases and Jules spent the next few days introducing them to the band that is Mustered Courage and how we currently operate. We are extremely happy to have joined forces with Sterling and look forward to a long and prosperous road of music and business!
Thanks to all our new US friends and supporters. Those who gave us some love, directions, burger recommendation, kind words, time of day and welcomed a young Australian bluegrass to the United States of America.
Well, folks. We made it…
We reached our goal on Pozible and are Nashville bound, tickets in hand. All is set for us to showcase at the prestigious Americana Music Festival!
We couldn’t have done it without your help and as a sign of our eternal gratitude, we’re thanking everybody who donated to the cause in an official-like fashion on facebook. Kind of like an e-plaque…
The overwhelming support for our trip has been very humbling. We managed to clear our goal of $10,000 in seven days! Thank you!!! We’ll do our best to make you proud in the states
This Friday the 15th August we’ve got a special bluegrass extravaganza with the Davidson Brothers! Don’t miss one of the best bluegrass shows in Melbourne this year! Its all going down at the Caravan Club, best venue in the South East
Hey there Muzzies,
We’re excited to announce our return to the cosy Wesley Anne, one of our favourite venues in Northcote. We’re doing 2 shows on the 30th and 31st of August and you can grab tickets right here.
Its going to be intimate… very intimate… Logs burning in the fireplace, dinner by candlelight, red wine and… Banjo!!!
See you there, folks.
Big News, Mustered Cousins!
We’ve been invited to showcase at the prestigious Americana Fest in Nashville, Tennessee. It is an honour to get an invitation as only four other Aussie acts have been chosen to officially showcase. We will be representing Australia alongside some of Australia’s most revered performers, Paul Kelly, The Hillbilly Killers (Tim Rogers, Bill Chambers, Catherine Britt), Melody Pool & The Bushwackers.
Unfortunately, we received the invitation with such short notice that we are unable to apply for a touring grant so we’ve started a Pozible campaign to raise the dosh for flights and Visas.
If you’re feeling generous, please donate. This is a BIG opportunity for us as we will be showcasing to the cream of the crop in the Americana music industry.
